Yes She Can Peer Connect Classes are structured, staff-led, community-based group classes designed to support individuals in developing independence, social skills, and self-advocacy in alignment with their person-centered goals and Life Plans. Classes are delivered in a small group setting to encourage peer interaction, engagement, and individualized support.
All activities are adapted to reflect each participant’s strengths, preferences, and support needs. Programming takes place in both structured settings and real-world community environments to support the application of skills in everyday situations.
These classes emphasize skill development, peer connection, and meaningful participation in both group and community settings. The curriculum includes the following areas:
Self-Advocacy & Goal Setting (PC3001-Offered Monday)
Participants build skills to express preferences, make choices, and identify personal goals through guided discussions and interactive activities that promote confidence and self-awareness.
Social Interaction & Relationship Skills (PC3002-Offered Tuesday)
Participants engage in group-based activities and role-playing exercises that focus on communication, cooperation, empathy, and building positive relationships with others.

Introduction to Caregiving Skills is a structured, staff-led community class open to all individuals, designed to introduce participants to foundational caregiving concepts in a supportive, group-based environment. This class aligns with person-centered goals and Life Plans by promoting the development of independence, empathy, communication, responsibility, and social awareness. The class is exploratory in nature and is not intended to provide job training or lead to certification.
Participants engage in guided activities that focus on understanding how to help others, recognizing routines, and practicing appropriate supportive behaviors in everyday situations. Instruction is delivered in a small group setting to encourage peer interaction while allowing for individualized support based on each participant’s strengths, preferences, and needs. These experiences support increased confidence, social understanding, and appropriate behavior across environments while reinforcing skill generalization.
