The Board of Directors of Yes She Can is delighted to announce that Robin Davies-Small, MEd, has joined as our new Executive Director.
Robin has over 30 years of managerial experience in non-profit programs providing services to people with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. She found her calling as a teenager volunteering in a recreation program for children with developmental disabilities.
With a passion for teaching, Robin left her New York home to continue her education at Boston University where she earned a Bachelor’s in Science in elementary and special education. After teaching children in a classroom setting for a few years, Robin began working at a disabilities service agency providing vocational services to adults with developmental disabilities. Robin describes this as the time she found her true passion: helping adults develop vocational and life skills.
Robin pursued a Master’s degree in educational administration with a specialization in nonprofit management. She was awarded the Boston University Dean Arthur Herbert Wilde Society Award for Outstanding Achievement and Distinction in Service to the Profession.
After 26 years of living in the Bay State, Robin returned home to New York to be closer to her family. For the past nine years at Westchester Jewish Community Services, Robin developed and grew Shelanu, a social recreation program for young adults on the autism spectrum. Under her direction, the program expanded and has helped many individuals to develop meaningful relationships and maintain friendships.
Robin lives in Ardsley, New York, with her husband, two sons, and their dog, Allie. Robin is an avid runner (completing three marathons, countless shorter races, and five triathlons). When not working she can be found cheering on her sons at their sporting events. She loves cooking for large groups of people, roller coasters, being outdoors, spending time with her family, and taking long walks with Allie.
Robin is excited to join the Yes She Can team and continue with the amazing mission and programs that Marjorie has led. She believes that Yes She Can has countless possibilities for growth and is looking forward to serving many more women at our new location at 10 Church Street, White Plains.
While Marjorie is happily retiring as the Executive Director, she will remain as the President of the Board of Directors.
