Every aching, unfit muscle in my body, aside from my heart, is telling me, “NO! Don’t do it!” But my heart is with the inspiring people I serve at Yes She Can, and the people I don’t serve, yet. My heart is with my son, Peter, who volunteered to be captain of our Bike to the Beach team, in support of the autistic person in our life, and my daughter, Josie, who volunteered to join him. My heart is with Robin Davies-Small, Darlene Schubert, and Claudia Castaneda, who could have chosen 1,000 other ways to use their talents, but, thankfully, they choose to work for this brilliant non-profit. My heart is with Diane S., Lori D., Caroline C., Lynn S., Rajni M., Jennifer C., and Kennedy H., our volunteers/mentors for whom my respect cannot be overstated. I’m riding for them, with all my heart, in hopes that I may continue to make more room in my heart for more people with disabilities, connecting them to ways to support themselves.
Please open your heart and join me on the ride, whether beside me on a bike, or with your donation towards the Yes She Can Bike to the Beach Team. Thank you!
