I’m thrilled that I am going to be this year’s Yes She Can Team Captain for Bike to the Beach.
I am originally from Connecticut and have been residing in Brooklyn, NY for the past decade. As a public health social worker, I am currently employed at a nonprofit organization dedicated to training health professionals in reproductive and mental health topics. Additionally, I work part-time as a therapist, providing counseling services to adult clients.
Yes She Can has played a significant role in my life since its establishment in 2013. I have always been close with my cousin, Izzie, who serves as the inspiration behind Yes She Can. We both grew up sharing a deep fondness for American Girl Dolls. Yes She Can, provides Izzie, along with numerous other young women with autism, the opportunity to develop transferable job skills with dreams of joining the competitive workforce and reaching their highest potential. It is my mission to help Yes She Can raise the funds necessary to be able to continue to offer exceptional programs.
Last year marked my inaugural participation in Bike to the Beach as a rider for Yes She Can, conquering the 50-mile route. This year, I am eagerly looking forward to riding once again, aiming to double my mileage and tackle my first-century ride. This ride suits my personal life perfectly as I love the great outdoors and can often be found skiing, biking, rock climbing, and hiking.
With enthusiasm and determination, I am committed to expanding the number of riders on our team to the largest number of riders ever! We already have an outstanding group of returning riders, and our goal is to recruit many others who are eager to join us in supporting Yes She Can. Together, we will raise awareness and champion this incredible cause. Please consider riding with me and help raise awareness about Yes She Can Bike to the Beach
If you absolutely can’t join me on this amazing day, please consider donating to raise awareness about autism and to support job skill training at Yes She Can. Bike to the Beach
PS Those who knew last year’s captain, Meghan Bushuyev, do not worry she is still part of the Yes She Can team and will be riding the century this year. Due to her many other commitments, she could not be the captain this year. Yes She Can and I thank her for all of her support and dedication over the years. We are so glad she will continue to ride with us this year and I know she will assist me if I need any help with captain responsibilities.
