Extraordinary People – Screening on January 16th

Extraordinary People: A Documentary About Adults with Autism & Employment

Join us on January 16, 2019, 7:00 PM Reception; 7:30 PM Film & Discussion at the Bow Tie Cinema 100, 93 Knollwood Road, White Plains, NY 10607

Please join us for a private screening of a new documentary and conversation around employment for adults with autism and related disabilities.

The 30-minute film follows the stories of six individuals who have overcome individual challenges to discover success working at a special purpose company called Extraordinary Ventures.

The message these people have heard all their lives is “they can’t; they don’t have the skills.”  But, look at them now!

Employment is a vital factor in terms of self-worth and confidence.  Yet, for this population, paid job opportunities are scarce.  It is incumbent on us all – individuals, friends, families, business and community leaders– to be more accepting and find new ways to create meaningful work.

The stories in Extraordinary People show what can happen when an employer is flexible, and the jobs and the businesses are designed around interests and skills of the people that sometimes are not obvious.

Extraordinary Ventures New York is proud to be hosting this amazing event.
