My New Job by Alexandra B.

January 10, 2019 by Marjorie Madfis Leave a Comment

In October, 2018, I accepted a Scanning position at M Group Consulting. My primary responsibility is reviewing and scanning medical invoices and uploading documents to the appropriate electronic archive. In addition to processing invoices, I have been helping M Group Consulting prepare for an office move by packaging and shredding documents. I have even learned how to assemble boxes to store sensitive files!

Since working at M Group Consulting, I have improved my computer skills and developed new relationships. I really like working alongside the other employees.

My job coach, Jacie from The Arc of Westchester, has really helped me be more independent in the workspace and confident. My job coach is really nice to me and takes care of me whenever I need help.

I have been a part of a job-skills-training program at Yes She Can, helping to prepare me for employment. I learned computer skills and am learning how to help myself with my own anxiety.

I now work more comfortably with my colleagues, including Jean, who is a colleague I work with at my new job, and Jennifer, my Supervisor and the Office Administrative Manager at M Group Consulting.

Earning a paycheck is really special to me. I am so excited and proud to earn money as it makes me feel more independent.

If I were going to tell new employees about interviewing for jobs like M Group Consulting, I would tell them to be calm and be less anxious. The new employee should be proud that they are getting a new job.

I feel so lucky that Jacie helped me find my job at M Group Consulting.
