Still needed: skills for employment and independence

Job Skills Still Needed

Now more than ever, teens and young adults with learning differences need personalized and interactive support from experts to help them develop transferable job skills.  Given this lull in employment, it is a good time to focus on developing and practicing the critical skills needed and desired by employers.  Learn more about Yes She Can curriculum

Life Lessons

Since this March, Yes She Can has been operating our proven job skills development program remotely, using Zoom to coach trainees effectively.  Moving our program from Girl AGain to remote work-from-home required  program participants to transfer established skills from one setting to another.  It also required them to adapt and adjust rather quickly, and to learn new skills.   While this sudden change was unplanned, our trainees are exercising their skills in flexibility, resilience, and perseverance.   These are characteristic that will serve them well in life.

New Opportunities

Isabelle working remotelyWe do not have a date when our program will be able to return to Girl AGain.  So we are planning our Summer session to continue to be delivered remotely.  New participants will be given customized coaching to learn the core processes and skills.

We have added modules to our curriculum including marketing planning and techniques, and personal work skills assessment,  job exploration and networking skills.
