Cycling Team Has First Rides Under Our Wheels. By Allan Friedman

July 25, 2016 by Marjorie Madfis Leave a Comment

WOW!  100 miles!

Bike to the Beach mapOn June 10th, four members of the Yes She Can Cycling Team completed the ride from NYC to West Hampton Long Island with Bike To The Beach.  Two of us did the full century (Allan Friedman and Steve Lyons) and two did the metric Century, starting from Wantaugh (Sharon Behnke and Jerry Kay).  Quite the accomplishment. Here they are at the finish line (see picture)

A View from the Bridge

One July 17th, Allan also participated in the Bridges Ride For Autism covering more than 23 miles in New York City, crossing the iconic bridges: Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg and Queensborough (aka Mayor Ed Koch or 59th Street “Feelin’ Groovy”) bridges.  Here is Allan with ride founder Joe Nobili who is also a significant contributor to and supporter of Yes She Can Inc. We hope you’ll join us next year as we plan to do their ride again.

What’s next

There are still plenty of opportunities to ride with our team. Next Friday, Allan and Steve will be driving down to Baltimore to join the Bike to the Beach century ride to Dewey Beach on July 29th.

Want to join us? Contact Allan at allan@yesshecaninc.org

We will also be doing a ride from Boston to Newport on Labor Day weekend.   A ride through the Florida Keys is in the works for January, 2017.   We are also working on joining other area rides that support Autism and to raise funds for our organization. Contact Allan for more details.

In the mean time, your donations to our cause directly here on this site or in sponsorship via the team site are always welcome. Donate sponsoring one of our cyclists or join the team to raise funds (for 2016, its raise what you can towards whatever target you choose to set – no hard requirement to attain).

Hope to see you on a ride soon!
