Have you ever been left behind or underestimated or even dismissed by your peers?
Alex, Vicky and Izzie and the young women who join Yes She Can’s job skills development program experience that daily. That’s because they have autism- a condition they did not ask for – which challenges them in understanding what other people mean. It’s not fair.
Because of autism, they struggle with the skills that are necessary to be successful in the workplace.
That is why only 2 in 8 adults with autism have a job.
Yes She Can believes that young women with autism can develop the skills they need – if they are given intensive and direct coaching in an authentic workplace. Our clinical staff of social workers and psychologists as well as business managers provide intensive coaching at Girl AGain boutique, a charming resale boutique that serves customers who love American Girl dolls.
We have a wait list for our program. But with your help we can serve more young women like Colleen, Mackenzie and Vicky. They deserve a chance to fulfill their potential. Please consider a donation – any amount you can give is appreciated.
You can hear Mackenzie, Vicky, Colleen and Alex talk about what work means to them.
Don’t let young women with autism be left behind.
Thank you!!
